Can I explore Brisbane without a car if I cannot walk far?

I want a few days by the river, an apartment near groceries and walks of roughly 500 metres or less between stops. How can I choose a workable base and transport plan?

Brisbane's buses and ferries can cover many city outings without a car. Check current Translink stops, accessible boarding and service notices for each journey, and allow rest time rather than trying to fit several riverfront sights into one walk.

Shortlist a few apartments, then map the door-to-door route to groceries, a ferry terminal and the places you actually want to visit. South Bank is relatively flat, but a neighbourhood label does not guarantee that every useful stop is within 500 metres.
