Can I rent a car at Brisbane's cruise terminal for a Gold Coast day trip?

Our ship calls at Brisbane International Cruise Terminal for one day. I hoped to collect a rental car there, drive to the Gold Coast and return before sailing. What is the practical plan?

    Port of Brisbane says there is no onsite car rental and no public transport connection at the International Cruise Terminal. You would need to arrange a taxi or rideshare to an offsite rental branch and confirm its opening hours and return process.
