About Nana and Da's

Nana and Da’s turns an old Kedron Queenslander into a spirited suburban cafe dishing out inventive, generous brunch plates. Owners Karen and Max run a warm floor with country kitchen nostalgia—vintage wallpaper, ceiling roses, and kitschy flying ducks included. Melbourne transplants compare the kitchen favorably to southern staples. Regulars lean into plates like kimchi scrambled eggs on artisanal sourdough, Massaman Beef Benny, housemade breakfast gnocchi tossed in herby sauce, or a fried chicken club sandwich stacked high with bacon. Expect pulled espresso alongside specialty sips like proper graded strawberry matcha and real-fruit thickshakes. Out front, a dog-friendly patio offers shade when the morning crowd packs the tables, winding down over fluffy banana oat pancakes with fresh fruit.

  • Inventive Brunch Plates: Generous plates pairing comfort staples with global twists, including Massaman Beef Benny, kimchi scramble on sourdough, and housemade breakfast gnocchi.
  • Craft Drinks & Sips: Smooth espresso alongside proper graded strawberry matcha, chai, and thickshakes blended with real fruit.
  • Queenslander Cottage Charm: A cozy, dog-friendly Queenslander cottage appointed with nostalgic wallpaper, ceiling roses, and flying ducks.

Practical advice on parking, family visits, and peak hours

  • Allow Extra Time for Street Parking

Street parking directly outside on Homebush Road is limited and can fill quickly during peak brunch times; be prepared to walk a short distance from surrounding residential streets.

  • Seating for Families and Dogs

The cafe features outdoor seating suitable for dining with dogs, plus thoughtful touches like toys for children to keep families occupied.

  • Navigate Peak Morning Demand

The cozy cottage can get busy during peak morning rushes, but service and kitchen output remain prompt even when full.
