Tucked into the Nicholas Street Precinct, That Dumpling Place folds Northern Chinese dumplings fresh on-site daily—no freezer shortcuts. Thin wrappers cradle savoury fillings cooked to order three ways: steamed, poached, or pan-fried with a crisp bottom lace. Diners drop in for unpretentious comfort food that skips the heavy post-meal bloat, filling tables with baskets of chicken and zucchini dumplings, crispy fried wontons, and plates of salt-and-pepper squid. Drizzle black Chinkiang vinegar over hot pan-fried fish parcels and chase them with sips of hot jasmine tea.
