Tucked off the Cavill Avenue arcade side, Khatun delivers real-deal Mongolian cooking far removed from stir-fry buffets. Expect steam-filled baskets of handmade buuz dumplings packed with hand-diced beef alongside crispy, savoury khuushuur pocket pastries. Regulars come hungry for communal platters of fall-off-the-bone lamb and stir-fried tsuivan noodles tossed with beef and chili oil. Between courses, the hosts share traditional games with sheep ankle bones or invite guests to try on folk headwear alongside cups of warm, savoury milk tea.
