About Banyo Bowls Club Inc

Suburban greens meet steaming bowls of ramen at this low-key neighborhood lawn bowls club. Tucked away on Froude Street, the clubhouse swaps out standard counter fare for Hiro Meshi—dishing up chicken karaage noodle soup and Tokyo ramen alongside cheap cold beers. When competitive matches wind down, the turf opens up so neighborhood kids can stretch their legs while parents regroup with craft pints on the sidelines. Between barefoot bowls on the green and rotating weekend food trucks, afternoon drinks slip easily into a bowl of vegetable noodles.

  • Japanese Clubhouse Kitchen: The on-site kitchen serves steaming bowls of Tokyo ramen and chicken karaage noodle soup alongside clubhouse drinks.
  • Community Lawn Vibe: Families gather on the sidelines over food trucks and cold beers while kids run across the green between roll-ups.
  • Barefoot Bowls: Social bowlers can kick off their shoes for casual barefoot rounds paired with pints of local craft beer.

Why Choose Banyo Bowls Club

Why locals gather at Banyo Bowls Club for relaxed weekends, barefoot bowls, and authentic Japanese cuisine.

  • In-House Japanese Dining at Hiro Meshi

Hiro Meshi serves fresh Japanese classics including Tokyo ramen, karaage noodles, and vegetarian options directly within the clubhouse.

Hubby was very impressed with the Chicken Karaage Noodle Soup (and had our daughters leftovers). My son (11) said the Tokyo Ramen was the best he’s ever had and my Vege Noodles (added Todu) was beautiful and fresh.

  • Affordable Craft Drinks and Cocktails

The bar offers quality craft pours, cold local tap beers, and cocktails at wallet-friendly community club prices.

Cocktails were great and so reasonably priced!

  • Unjudged Relaxation for Neighborhood Families

Parents can enjoy an unjudged afternoon while kids freely play outdoors on the open bowling green alongside neighbor families.

Perfect place to let the kids run amok on the green (if no games on) and local crowd is mostly other families so no judgement 😅

  • Genuine Neighborhood Community Warmth

Welcoming club staff and approachable members create an immediate sense of belonging for casual visitors and newcomers.

Staff really friendly, met the Treasurer who came over for a chat. Very welcoming.

  • Lively Weekend Green and Food Truck Socials

Weekend afternoons bring local parents, friends, and kids together over rotating food trucks and refreshing beverages.

Children of various ages running and playing, groups of parents mingling and enjoying a few beverages and the barbecue food truck.

  • Celebrations Centered Around Barefoot Bowls

The club provides an accessible, low-stress setting for birthdays, milestone celebrations, and barefoot bowls on the turf.

Went here with much of our extended family to celebrate one of my Aunties 80th birthday. The staff and those assisting are lovely people -- nothing too much and so easy going. Played some barefoot bowls and a few cold ales.

Before you head over

Practical tips for planning family visits, lawn games, and dining at Banyo Bowls Club.

  • Check Green Availability Before Letting Kids Play

For casual weekend family visits, note that children can run on the bowling green only when formal games are not in progress.

  • Plan Around Kitchen and Food Truck Schedules

The in-house Japanese kitchen Hiro Meshi trades Wednesday through Friday, whereas rotating food trucks take over dining on weekends.

  • Catch Saturday Evening Live Music and Bowls

Live music typically kicks off around 5:00 PM on Saturday nights, making late afternoons the prime window for barefoot bowls and lively drinks.
