Before you head over
Practical advice for planning your visit, tidal navigation, and stops at Kooringal
Time Your Arrival Around Tides and Sandbars
Plan your transit around the tides whether travelling by 4WD or vessel. Driving back near low tide helps avoid sand track issues, and boaters must check navigational charts to navigate around shifting sandbars.
Beach and Watercraft Parking
If visiting by boat or jet ski, take advantage of direct beach access where you can beach or anchor your craft and walk up to the venue. Be sure to check depth and anchoring conditions relative to tidal windows.
Pick Up Missing Island Essentials
Stock up on grocery and general store necessities right inside the bar if you missed packing essentials or run short during your stay on Moreton Island.
