A Mary Street staple for over a decade, this unfussy shokudo runs on quick counter orders, steaming broth, and pure comfort. CBD workers slip into the quiet dining room to decompress over generous bowls—the kind of spot where you can BYO drinks and catch Studio Ghibli playing silently on the corner TV. The pork katsu lands hot with a crisp panko bite beside rich Japanese curry sauce, while the grilled unagi don brings smoky sweetness over rice with a bowl of miso soup on the side. Meals often arrive with a surprise mini chicken bowl, leaving you properly full before heading back out onto the street.

    Kadoya brought a lovely nostalgia. I had a beef ramen with extra noodles and it hit the spot. Service was lovely too. And the space is cool with some scenic and anime posters and even a studio ghibli movie on the TV.
