Visit websiteAbout So Moon
Underwood regulars head to So Moon when only an intensely restorative, slow-simmered Korean herbal broth will do. Diners usually begin with a complimentary cup of warm chicken porridge while simmering stone pots bubble away in the kitchen. The kitchen’s true draw is traditional samgyetang—a whole, fall-apart tender chicken stuffed with sticky rice, medicinal herbs, and jujube. Tables often split a plate of crunchy fried chicken wings dusted in sweet, savory snowing cheese alongside crisp kimchi pancakes. Prompt refills of house banchan round out the spread.
- Traditional Samgyetang: Whole tender chicken simmered with sticky rice, restorative Korean herbs, and jujube in bubbling hot broth.
- Snowing Cheese Fried Chicken: Crunchy wings coated in savory-sweet cheese powder offer a crisp contrast to steaming herbal pots.
- Warm Porridge Welcome: Dine-in guests are welcomed with a warm starter of chicken porridge while side dishes arrive with attentive refills.

Why Choose So Moon
Slow-simmered herbal broths, crisp Korean fried chicken, and warm hospitality in Underwood.
Medicinal Herbal Samgyetang Broths
Traditional whole-chicken samgyetang and slow-simmered herbal broths formulated with ginseng and jujube deliver deep physical nourishment.
The soup was warm and comforting, with a light but rich flavour. It came with a whole chicken, and the chicken was very juicy, soft, and easy to eat.
Yanb Complimentary Starter Porridge & Banchan
Every dine-in table receives a comforting starter bowl of chicken porridge alongside attentive banchan refills.
I really like how the dishes came with good side dishes and complimentary porridge. The porridge was really tasty too.
R C Crunchy Twice-Cooked Korean Fried Chicken
Crispy, freshly prepared mid-wings and boneless chicken coated in snowing cheese or sweet and sour glazes provide a crisp contrast to rich soups.
The chicken was crispy outside and soft inside, and both flavours were good.
Yanb Crisp Savoury Pancakes and Rich Stews
Flavourful kimchi stews, silky tofu bowls, and crisp kimchi pancakes deliver deep home-style Korean warmth.
So Moon makes the best kimchi pancakes - the flavour is great and it has the right amount of crispy and soft texture.
AG Cold-Weather Soul-Warming Comfort
Steaming hot clay-pot broths and hearty hotpots offer comforting warmth during cold, windy evenings or exhausting days.
Their herbal chicken soup is always the best to warm our soul in winter.
Jojo Poon Cozy Neighborhood Dining Setting
An intimate, cozy dining room makes sharing comforting hotpots and generous sides an easy, restorative gathering.
It’s a small and cozy place, so if you’re coming with a group larger than four, it might be a bit tricky to get a table. But if you’re after warm, comforting Korean soups and sides, So Moon is definitely worth a visit!

Before you head over
Helpful advice on wait times, group sizes, and ordering for a seamless visit.
Arrive Early to Beat the Queue
The dining room is cozy with approximately 26 indoor seats, and lines often form during peak dinner and weekend hours. Visit earlier or expect to queue for a table.
Allow Extra Time for Simmered Hotpots
Specialty items such as the spicy herbal chicken hotpot can take around 30 minutes to prepare, so plan ahead or pair your soup with quick-cooking dishes like crispy fried chicken.
Keep Group Sizes Compact
Due to the intimate, small dining space, parties larger than four may find it challenging to secure immediate indoor seating together. Consider visiting as a smaller group or dining outside.
