Paddington puts a little hill between you and the ordinary café stop. Given and Latrobe Terraces run past old Queenslanders and shopfronts, with breakfast, Italian cooking and Middle Eastern flavours among the reasons to sit down. Coffee fits naturally between the shops, but the neighbourhood has enough appetite for a longer lunch. A verandah or courtyard gives the afternoon somewhere comfortable to settle.
